Our charming horsebox is the ideal outdoor bar for weddings and celebrations, seamlessly fitting into the beautiful settings of country houses, stately homes, marquees, barns, and spacious private gardens.
This vintage horse trailer has been lovingly transformed into a mobile bar, featuring a handcrafted design with space for up to four bartenders to provide full bar services. And that's not all—we double as a cozy coffee bar during the day at various locations in the Peak District! It’s a fantastic choice to make your event both special and stylish.
At What a Mare, we aim to offer a relaxed and sophisticated solution for your drinks catering needs. As a family-run business, we take pride in providing exceptional service and the flexibility to create a personalised experience just for you.
We’ve got a fully stocked bar and friendly bartenders ready to help you unwind and enjoy time with your guests—no worries, just good times!

Based in Holymoorside, we happily serve the beautiful Peak District. Since we’re completely mobile, we can bring our horsebox bar right to your chosen location. Just a heads-up: if your venue is over 50 miles from Holymoorside, a delivery charge will apply.

Whether you’re looking for lunchtime refreshments or a lively evening celebration, we’re here to serve your guests according to your event's schedule. We make sure to set up in time for your first arrivals and smoothly wind down with the rest of the party.

I'm Abi
​​What A Mare bar is owned and founded by me. We turned this rice trailer horse box into a bar with the assistance of my friends and family, especially my fiancé Tom. Having worked in hospitality for more than ten years, particularly in event planning, I felt it was time to take a different approach and launch my own business.​

I manage this as a side gig while working as a wedding and event planner at a stately home in Derbyshire. I began working in hospitality while I was still in school in order to make some extra cash, and even after trying out a few different jobs, I always seemed to find myself returning to the industry. My experience with weddings and events began while I was living in Australia, where I assisted in organising and managing events for corporate clients and engaged couples at Sydney's Luna Park. ​​
